Once the girls have grasped the basics of finger spelling and sign language, they could learn to sign the Promise.

Top tip: Spend some time learning finger spelling and playing deaf awareness games with the girls before signing the Promise. This will make it much easier!

Once you're ready to give it a go, these signing sheets will help to get you started.

If you’d like to request a copy of this video on CD and some hard copies of the signing sheet, use this form.

We'd love to see your photos and videos of a signed Promise performance. Find out how to share them here.

this is a good website and helps people to learn the promises in sign language. If a group has a deaf person than they will know the promise in sign language.

Brilliant to have the video of the Promise, but would have appreciated it signed slower for those of us to whom this is totally new.

I agree with Sarah this is really cool, but it is very hard to follow. A version where each sign is done slowly and separately, corresponding with the pictures on the instructions, would be helpful.

Very cool, but DEFINITELY too fast for beginners. I'm trying to learn it to teach my Brownies and thought that the video would help me interpret the diagrams on the sheets but it's just too fast for me. Same goes for the Sister Sledge song video I'm afraid.

It's really good and you also can learn a lot of sign language.
